Fire and Sand at the Santa Fe Film Festival!

Fire and Sand documents healing in the community of lower Puna, Hawai’i Island, in the wake of the 2018 Kilauea eruption. Through exploration of the living mythology of Pele, the Hawaiian goddess of the volcano, the inner and outer landscapes of traumatic loss, hope, and new beginnings are revealed.

Local kumus (teachers), students, residents and helpers are featured in the film that highlights the use of mobile Sandplay in disaster relief.
