Dr. Freedle will be presenting this workshop for the Taiwanese Society for Sandplay Therapy
In Hawaiian mythology, Pele, the Goddess of the Volcano personifies the transformative power of the elements. This workshop will explore the three roots of sandplay therapy as founded by Dora Kalff, along with the healing power of symbols and archetypes. The role of nature myths across cultures will be explored with an emphasis on the myth of Pele. Finally, this workshop will explore how the elements appear in a sandplay process, providing energies for transformation in symbolic and concrete form. Concepts will be elucidated through lecture, experiential activities, and case study.
